Ludus

Ludus is a side game for nobles building a town that is focused on resource growth and management. With each event a player attends, their town will produce resources. These resources can be used to produce items, earn money, or mobilize the noble’s armed forces. Resources can also be invested back into various projects to make them more efficient or effective. There are three main areas: production, economy, and military. The Noble can invest directly into the area or invest in a project in one of those areas.

Production

The area of production represents the production of goods. This could be anything from armor to textiles, depending on what the Noble wants to focus on. Investing in production itself will yield more resources for future events. The more total resources invested into production, the more resources are produced with each event. Investing in a project of production will make the item cost fewer resources to produce. Resources can be spent to produce items from projects in the area of production. You can only receive 5 items per event from your town.

Economy

The area of economy deals directly with money. The Noble can use the area to convert resources directly into copper. Investing in economy will increase the amount of copper the Noble will receive when converting resources into copper.

Military

The area of military is focused on what sort of armed militia you want to have. Investing in this area or projects in this area will increase the size of your militia. The Noble can spend resources to mobilize them if they wish. Projects in this area look like specialized units while the area itself just produces standard troops.

Projects

Projects are completely decided by the Noble with GM approval. This allows the Noble to make their town prioritize growth in particular areas; however, before a project can be started, there needs to be a subject matter expert (SME). This is someone who has expertise in an area relating to the project. For example, if the Noble wants to produce armor from their town, they will first need to find a smith so that they can start that project. These subject matter experts are NPCs the noble will interact with in game. A Noble should always be on the lookout for someone they want to recruit for their town.
