Guilds and Factions

Clerics

The Cleric Guild Master is the Goblin( ゚ Д゚)/. ( ゚ Д゚)/ loves his job as the guild master. As a youth, he was saved by an adventurer and always dreamed of becoming one. Unfortunately, due to his fear of weapons, he was never able to become one. So he instead worked hard and honed his skills as an interplanetary invoker so he could one day serve as a medic for the adventurers. He eventually worked his way up to Guild Master and started recruiting friends and family. Despite not having a central location, the clerics' guild is the guild with the most employees. As the need grew for healers in Wilshire( ゚ Д゚)/ sold everything he had to hire and train more clerics. Despite lacking a penny to his name( ゚ Д゚)/ finds himself the richest Guild Master in Wilshire.

Soothsayers

The Soothsayer Faction Master is Hieesha. This ethereal showed up one day nearly 15 years ago with more expertise in interplanery invocations than anyone else in the clerics’ guild or factions. He spends most of his time studying and honing his skills so that when his help is most needed, he will be ready.

Paladin

The Paladin Faction Master is the Faerleth Emric. Emric is a simple man with complex taste. During his youth in littleton he was hired by a group of mercenaries as a cook. He had always wanted to see the world, and this seemed like a good way to do it. After some time, the mercenaries began teaching him how to defend himself. Emric was quite gifted when it came to defending himself, but he had little appetite for violence. Eventually he felt like he had seen enough of the world and decided he wanted to settle down somewhere, and Wilshire seemed as good a place as any. After a long time cooking for the Paladin faction he worked his way to the top. There is some speculation that he only got the position after giving the Voice of the Baron some stew.

Noble

The Noble's Guild has no guild master. All of the clerks (a specialised steward) in the guild are paid by interest on the collective investments of all of the guild members.

Knight

The Knight's Faction Master is Aegus of a kin rarely, if ever, seen by most people. He strikes an intimidating and powerful figure, but he leads through camaraderie more than anything else. Nearly a hundred years ago, he lost one of his eyes and his memory. Since that day, he vowed to live life to the fullest and help others around him to do the same. He finds joy in most everything he does. He works closest with a group of fighters that regularly participate in the colosseum. Although Aegus joins them from time to time, his duties as a faction master keep him occupied.

Lord

The Lord Faction Master is Sinerex the Kinsman. The Lord's faction master is not actually nobility. He has been a trusted advisor to many nations during times of difficulty or conflict. Seeing the influence Wilshire holds, he worked his way into the nobles' guild and eventually the Lords' faction. He has been lords faction master for the past nineteen years.

Ranger

The Ranger Guild Master is the Wood Elf Fynn. Fynn is one of the guild masters that has been with Wilshire the longest. While he doesn’t seem like much he is a savant when it comes to intuition, he can tackle most any situation with clueless ease and generally stops fights before the aggressor can even think about starting because that's less work then actually getting into a fight.

Stalkers

The Stalker Faction Master is the elusive predatorian Ygnaru. Ygnaru comes from an old allieship the Baron has with a specific tribe of predatorian. He is a proud shaman and strong hunter that was motivated by the stories his father would tell him about the baron and his adventures. He eventually decided to leave home to find better hunts after he got bored of hunting his home forest and went to wilshire to see if he could find his own stories like his fathers. As someone who always took the most dangerous hunts in the guild, he almost accidentally worked his way up the ranks out of personal motivation and love for the hunts he could find across the continent.

Marksman

The Marksman Faction Master is the Felucian Lythric. Lythric has been part of the Wilshire military for decades. Most people around him tended to keep their distance because he is a Felucian, but he preferred space anyway. This led him to take more and more solitary roles before finding his speciality in being a military sniper. While he kept to himself and leaned into his Felucian upbringing as a way to feel closer to home the Baron noticed his almost perfect success rate and decided to have him double as a faction master while he wasn’t on missions.

Rogue

The Rogue's Guild doesn't exist. But if it were to, their Guild Master would be Nebulous (Referred to as “Neb”, by friends and cohorts). His (or Her) true name and form are unknown. It is unclear if even the government of Wilshire knows their true identity. Constantly used on missions of espionage, infiltration, and information gathering, it is said their personas have achieved Noble status in several prominent kingdoms, though that may just be unfounded fancy. Regardless, their knack to slip in and out of shadows, conversations, and restricted areas is largely attributed to an uncanny ability to more fully adopt a disguise than nearly any rogue.

Assassins

The Assassin Faction is also just a rumor and not real. But among certain circles it is claimed that their exists a certain Assassin with the title of Master. One... soft spoken individual. Their age, gender, appearance, and kin are not formally known. However, given their speech pattern, eyes being seen occasionally as sclera-less, and a substantial amount of rumors, he is believed to be a Sanjoran by most, though does an exceptional job of hiding this fact. Little is known of his past, other than he was hired to assassinate the previous faction master after they either went rogue or were overcome by a malevolent force and they needed someone who could eliminate the now split apart old faction master’s parts (or him and his guards depending on who you believe) simultaneously.

Thieves

Among the Wilshire crime scene there exists a group that the Wilshire guard has not squashed that teach others how to thieve. This elusive and exclusive group is led by the Master Thief Garretanus (commonly Garret). Garret is a half Dwarf, half Human that appears like a short male with an unusually gifted beard. Standing 4’ 8” he used his height to his advantage, picking pockets and feigning ignorance as a child when well shaved, or a wounded hunched over war veteran when not. What started as a way to fill in gaps to make bills whole ended up as a lifestyle that he couldn’t back down from. He prided his ability to prepare for a mark and always come prepared, his ambitions aiming ever upward. The common story as to why he stopped chasing personal wealth and joined up as a Wilshire "faction master" was that age caused him to slow and he wanted to use his skills he had honed to pay his bills instead of the old manual labor that barely covered rent, and he simply lost his eye back as a guard during a nasty arrest. The more interesting story those in the [Redacted] guild keep adding to and changing goes something like this: he decided the only thing higher than he had already hit was the Baron, and nothing but the mask off his own face would do. After he left to carry out his master plan he came back nearly two weeks later with both a new eye and profession. Oh, and he is REALLY the richest guildmaster, even if not the best paid.

Spellbinder

The Spellbinder Guild Master Cestiel is a grey angelucian who was part of a church exchange with Rex Portum and Angelucia. After being there for years he got caught up in some of the city's conflicts and made some choices that kept his teammates safe but darkened his wings a bit. Because of this he was no longer allowed in the church station that he was originally there for but quickly got scooped up by the voice of the baron and hired. Once in wilshire he let his love for rune etching show more and took immediately to caring deeply about his guild mates and those around him. This made him a quick choice when the last spellbinder guild master retired as most of the guild looked to him as a leader and friend already anyway.

Sentinels

Tridarius, the Sentinel Faction Master, is alarge and loud Wolfsbein with a coat of fur with brown with black streaks. Growing up in the growling hills he was part of various attempts to strengthen people's connections to the void. While none were considered fully successful thats only because the strange metal implants he received act as a small void gateway and ravage his body when he uses void energy. To combat this he pushes himself to get stronger and more resilient through physical training so he can use what he was given. While he’s ok with the experimentation he went through he knows few people survived it without some manner of permanent disability. In honor of that he strives to constantly be warm, happy, and strong so those around him will never have a need to push themselves as far.

Harbingers

The Harbinger Faction Master Salem, the goblin. From younger than he can remember, Salem showed promise with spellbinding and combat and was raised in the lower parts of Kor’bah as an assassin guard. While he was successful he never quite took to the assassin fighting style as much as his peers but loved spending time and practicing spellbinding in rooms deep in the caves. He would train with goblins he found down there only later realizing that he was just close enough to Kurra’cha that she was materializing to play with him. Eventually he took an away position in wilshire since his assassin skills weren’t quite what they needed to be to be in the advanced goblin forces he grew up around. This leaves him as a good communication point between the two cities as well as lets him focus more on information broking since he’s around a lot more news in wilshire. While he is the faction master he is still employed by Kor’bah and will be called on for particularly magical assassination jobs.

Warrior

The Warrior Guild Master is the Gnome Sebastian. A brash and harmful gnome, if you make Sebastian mad or catch him on an off day you're bound for trouble. He Served in the wilshire army and quickly stood out with his knowledge of crafting and tinkering, when not managing his guild you can see him taking part in the coliseum for fun, his near perfect record in there as earned him the nickname “final boss.

Berserkers

The Berserker Faction Master is The Troll. It is pretty strongly assumed that he is at least some part bridge troll. We’re not really sure if his name is guttural or if he just laughs when asked because he assumes people already know his name and are just messing with him. No one is really sure if he actually got hired or just walked in one day.

Champions

The Champion Faction Master is Wolfsbein Bane. Bane is the general of the Wilshire Army and guide for most young adventurers. He occasionally acts as a military advisor to the Baron. He has resided in wilshire for a while now, living longer than most wolfsbein for some unknown reasons. He has keenly refined his ability to tell when someone he knows is in danger and comes to their aid.

Wizard

Wizards do not have a guild; instead they only have factions. Each wizard can enter the two factions aligning with their magics. The Wizard Faction Masters of Wilshire are siblings/friends/cousins (their true relationship is uncertain as they have been documented disagreeing about the correct relational tie) that were part of a small nomadic band of Fairies nearly two decades ago called The Wayward Wings. They eventually took up traveling with Gnomish traders, as they happened upon some Gnomes in need of a few enchants, and partnered up from there keeping their merry bands name and starting to make some serious money. The Gnome at the center of the enterprise got big enough to make a brick and mortar storefront and settled down, leaving the Wayward Wings without their inventor, lucky for them, they had picked up a thing or two in their time traveling with him. Eventually they ended up having a magical emporium of magical spells and inventions, they named The Mystic Mirador in Wilshire. They slowly gained notoriety in the city and even used their Mirador (the locals just called the Tower) to help defend the City. Their acclaim grew so large that at some point people were coming to learn from them, despite their lack of interest in instructing, they followed the coin and started taking on students.

Pyromancy

The Pyromancy Faction Master is Pyre. Pyre is an Ahlukaro and J’hum Fairy. One of the younger of the group, most people fell into one job or another and Pyre wasn't sure what they were supposed to do, they loved being with everyone but didn't feel like they contributed. After setting their camp ablaze in the middle of the night due to some bandits trying to make off with Shriv in the night, they decided they lacked any real security and dedicated themselves to honing the more combative portions of their talent.

Hydromancy

The Hydromancy Faction Master is Rillet. Rillet is an Ahlukaro and J’hum Fairy. They have always taken an interest in the changing states of liquid and how that could be harnessed in various ways. They are one of the oldest, but are one of the more inventive ones and try to leave the admin stuff to the others so they continue their studying.

Kairomancy

The Kairomancy Faction Master is Fulgur. Fulgur is an Ahlukaro and J’hum Fairy. They are somewhere in the middle of the pack as far as age goes, but often find themselves the most preoccupied with the purse, making sure the funds are there to make sure a lack of funds or some improper spending don't inhibit the rest. It was a natural transition since they held the purse with Wayward Wings as well, though then the budget was much tighter, and they seemed to be the only one worried if they could afford the food they were ordering or not.

Neuromancy

The Neuromancy Faction Master is Welly (usually Well). Well is an Ahlukaro and J’hum Fairy. One of the younger of them, he is often the face of the group and handles a lot of the negotiating and sales, but stops there. With Fulgur handling the finances and Pyre playing the bodyguard he doesn't worry about the details, and has taken the lack of responsibility and ran with it. Often slipping away to go try out some new spell technique, scroll, or gift for a bit of extra money when the opportunity presents itself, Shriv noted this and helped them make something that would match well with their sly pursuits.

Avlomancy

The Avlomancy Faction Master is Shrivel (often called Shriv). Shriv is an Ahlukaro Fairy and is the only one that doesn't appear to be J’hum, or at least takes less after it then the rest. Despite their size and nickname of “the Runt” they aren't the youngest of them. They had the heaviest hand in making sure they kept the art of Animal Transformation going, and helped most of the others make their scrolls. Some have said that he came up with Rillet's almost entirely on his own, however that contradicts the understood nature of Animal Transformation, and they swear they have seen the creature in real life, on regular occasion, in fact.

Kinesiomancy

The Kinesiomancy faction master is Welly (usually Elly). Elly is an Ahlukaro and J’hum Fairy. Most think they are the oldest, though she never agrees to that, citing Well(y) being their twin as their explanation. Usually keeping tabs of the others, for the most part they are content to go along for the ride. It was her idea to head out on their own, all those years ago after all to escape from something, though she's never admitted what.
