Equipment Modifications

Modifications can be added to equipment either while it is being crafted or afterwards. Adding the modifications after the item has been created requires 1 additional supply (ingot, unit, etc.) per piece per sitting.

All

 

  • Engraving - 1 Slot - Etches the item with a custom engraving.

  • Encrusted - 1 Slot - Arrays of beautiful precious stones signify the importance of the item’s owner.

  • Gilding - 2 Slot - Surface clad with a thin layer of metal. Only requires an ingot of the gilding material.

  • Mirror-polish - 1 Slot - Polishes the item to a near-perfect sheen.

  • Gem Setting - 1 Slot - Places a setting into the item that gems may be swapped in and out of. Gems may be used by the wielder or wearer of the gem set item.

Weapon

 

  • Deep Fullers - Weight reduced by 1 per slot to a minimum of 1.
  • Wieldy - Once per encounter per slot, the first missed ability (i.e. missed after calling Crushing Blow) is not expended as it would be otherwise.
  • Hydrodynamic - 1 Slot - Weapon does +1 damage under water.
  • Case Hardening - Melee - Increases breakpoint by 2 and CC point by 1 per slot.
  • Spring-tempered - Melee - Weapon's breakpoint is now a damage point with 2 durability points per slot.
  • Shockproof - 2 Slots - Weapon cannot be broken by its own damage.
  • Plain - 1 Slot - Weapon is reforged to a more straightforward geometry, which lowers repair cost by 25%. Doesn’t add to repair cost.
  • Double-bladed - 2 Slots - Break is halved. Weapon damage increased by 1.
  • Soft Temper - Melee - 1 Slot - If “broken,” the weapon is still usable but only swings for a maximum of 1 damage until repaired.
  • Failsafe - Weapon or Shield. When this weapon breaks, anyone can repair it once for free per slot, but it removes 1 failsafe slot. 
  • Twin - 1 Slot - Only one-handed weapons. Must have 2 of the same weapon with this mod on each. Designed to fit into a single sheath, making their combined weight that of a single weapon.
  • Gem Setting -  1 Slot - Places a setting into the item that gems may be swapped in and out of. Gems may be used by the wielder or wearer of the gem set item.

Armor

 

  • Hardened - 2 Slots (Stackable) - Adds DR 1.
  • Annealed - 2 Slots (Stackable to DC 3) - Adds DC 5.
  • Durable - Adds 2 durability per slot.
  • Scaled - 2 Slots - Physical piercing damage is redirected to armor.
  • Fitted - 2 Slots - Reduces the weight class by 1 (weight stays the same).
  • Modular - 1 Slot - When the armor points reach 0, anyone can repair it once for free per slot, but it removes 1 Modular slot.

Shield

 

  • Reinforced Rim - 2 Slots - If broken, hits to the shield count as hits to that arm, but with an additive DR 2.

  • Shock-absorbing Cover - 1 Slot - Halves the length (rounding up, i.e. 5 second becomes 3.) of the CC effect incurred when this shield’s CC point is reached. 
  • Custom Bracing - 1 Slot - Can change the CC effect of a shield to a different shield CC effect.

Bow

 

  • Tillered - 1 Slot - can combine two Rank one uses of an ability into a single rank two.
